2010
The Livingston Center operates to educate the community on all aspects of an art gallery. With that in mind we
continue our tradition of having the gallery open while we change our exhibits.
Current Exhibit: Carla Pagliaro (with a "G" - sorry about the invitations! However, "pa - lee - are - o" is how you pronounce her name.) - August 16, 2010 through September 11, 2010
Carla thinks of these paintings as painted collages. Starting with one image - any image - that really grabs her she lets it tell her what else needs to happen. Thinking in terms of shape and color she say "if something is the right shape and/or color it doesn’t matter
what it is - animal, flower, architecture, etc."
Even though Carla starts out with a pretty good idea of where she thinks the painting is going it rarely ever works out that way. She often paints things in and then paints them out again
- multiple times.
The title "Perfect Worlds" came after the fact. When she had several of the paintings done and lined them up to look at them - those were the words that came to mind!
